spero // holding the hope
The name for Spero Counseling was adopted from a piece of the Latin proverb, “Dum Spiro Spero”, meaning “While I breathe, I hope”. Most individuals seek out counseling to deal with a challenge they're facing - whether it be depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or a range of other issues - that sometimes feels insurmountable and impossible. Throughout our therapeutic journey together, my goal is to help you see past the current moment that may be filled with pain, sorrow, and brokenness, to a hopeful future of joy, healing, and freedom.
The reality of life and the struggles it brings, is that we sometimes feel hopeless; even when we wish we could hope, it may feel like there is nothing left to hope for. The phrase, "holding the hope", embodies the sacred responsibility I take on in the counseling space; as your therapist, I will help you hold onto the hope when it feels like you can't any longer - until you are ready to hope again.
